My work is created on cotton rag paper, using watercolor, gouache, acrylic and pastel. The combination helps me achieve a print-like quality that would be less likely with a single medium. I begin by applying multi-layers of watercolor or acrylic to obtain a richness of color as my background, and then let process dictate the direction for further play, creating abstract images. I have cultivated a style that emphasizes color and contrasts. My inspiration comes from nature. I think of my work as abstract realism.
